Compare/Dermapen 4 or VI Peel

Dermapen 4 or VI Peel

Microneedling and a medical peel are asked to do overlapping jobs here — fine lines, scars, and texture on one side; dullness, breakouts, and pigment on the other. What differs is how each reaches the skin. Where our own menu says nothing about a detail, this page says nothing either.

Collagen MicroneedlingMedical

Dermapen 4

Stimulate your skin's natural repair process with the world's leading microneedling technology. Dermapen 4 creates controlled micro-channels that encourage collagen and elastin production while enhancing the absorption of professional serums. The result is smoother texture, firmer skin, refined pores, softened acne scars, and a healthier-looking complexion—with minimal downtime. Dermapen 4 is an advanced medical-grade microneedling treatment designed to improve overall skin quality by stimulating your body's natural collagen production. Using ultra-fine sterile needles, tiny micro-channels are created within the skin to trigger regeneration while allowing targeted serums to penetrate more effectively. This treatment can improve fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven texture, pigmentation, and overall skin firmness. Every treatment is customized based on your skin condition and goals.

VI Peel
Medical PeelMedical

VI Peel

A medical-grade peel that resurfaces over about a week — lifting away dullness, fine lines, breakouts, and stubborn pigment to reveal noticeably brighter, smoother, fresher skin.

Side by side

Two ways to resurface. Dermapen 4 works mechanically, through micro-fine channels; the VI Peel is a medical-grade peel that resurfaces over about a week.

Choose this when

VI Peel

  • 01Dullness, breakouts, and pigment are as much the concern as fine lines.

Frequently asked

Which has more downtime?

Our menu states Dermapen 4's downtime as little to none: skin looks flushed, a little like light sunburn, and settles over the following days. It does not state a downtime for the VI Peel, though it does say the peel resurfaces over about a week. Recovery differs from person to person, so your provider confirms what to expect at your consultation.

Is one gentler than the other?

Our menu does not rank them, and neither will we. It describes Dermapen 4 as gently prompting the skin to rebuild itself, and the VI Peel as a medical-grade peel that resurfaces over about a week. How either would feel on your skin is a consultation question.

How many sessions will I need?

Our menu offers a three-session course for Dermapen 4 and a five-session course for the VI Peel. How many you actually need is set by your provider once they have seen your skin.
