How ONDA PRO works
Microwaves, not radiofrequency
Most energy platforms in aesthetics use radiofrequency, which passes current between electrodes and heats whatever resists it along the way. Microwaves behave differently: they are radiated rather than conducted, and they deposit their energy where the tissue absorbs them. The practical difference is that the pattern of warming is set by the tissue itself rather than by where the electrodes were placed.
Why 2.45 GHz
At 2.45 GHz, microwave energy is strongly absorbed by water. Tissue with a high water content therefore takes up the energy first, and the absorption is what converts it to heat. The frequency is not arbitrary — it is the reason the warming happens a controlled distance below the surface instead of at the point of contact.
Warmth is the mechanism
There is no cutting, no needle and no cooling crystal in this. The handpiece is moved over the area and the tissue beneath it rises in temperature while the operator watches that temperature. Every cleared use of ONDA PRO is a consequence of that rise, which is also why the clearance is written in terms of heating rather than in terms of an outcome.
What the operator controls
Power, the time the handpiece spends over an area, and the movement pattern together decide how much energy reaches the tissue. The device reports back as it runs, and the person holding it adjusts to what they read and to what you tell them you feel. It is an attended treatment throughout, not a setting chosen once at the start.
