Caring for your skin after VI Peel
What to expect, what helps, and what is worth telling us about.
A VI Peel works over about a week: skin usually looks tight and a little darker for a day or two, then peels, then settles. Follow the take-home kit exactly as your provider explained it.
- Leave the solution on for as long as you were told before washing it off.
- Cleanse with lukewarm water and clean hands, pat dry, and apply the moisturiser you were given.
- Wear a high-factor sunscreen every day and stay out of direct sun while the skin is peeling.
- Do not pull, pick or exfoliate peeling skin — let it come away by itself. Pulling it can leave a mark.
- Pause retinoids, acids and scrubs until peeling has completely finished.
- Skip saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, swimming and heavy sweating while the skin is peeling.
- Leave make-up off until the peeling has stopped.
Call us if you develop swelling, blistering, unusual pain, or anything that does not look like ordinary peeling.
