Cryo Facial vs HydraFacial: What's the Difference?

15 October 2026

A cryo facial and a HydraFacial are both facials but work differently — cooling versus hydration. Here's how to choose.

Cryo Facial vs HydraFacial: What's the Difference?

A cryo facial and a HydraFacial are both facials, but they work in different ways. A cryo facial — also called a cold facial — uses sub-zero cooling to calm inflammation and leave skin feeling refreshed. A HydraFacial uses a patented vortex handpiece to cleanse, exfoliate, extract impurities, and infuse antioxidant serums into the skin in a single session.

At Minori, the cryo option is Glacial Skin, which applies controlled cold to the face. HydraFacial is the multi-step treatment on the menu. Both are performed by a certified specialist, both have little to no downtime, and both leave skin looking refreshed afterward.

Which one is right depends on what your skin actually needs. HydraFacial addresses congestion, dull tone, and uneven texture through extraction and hydration. Glacial Skin addresses sensitivity and reactive skin through cooling. Some clients use cryo facials to calm inflammation after other treatments; others choose HydraFacial as regular maintenance for clearer, more hydrated skin.

Neither treatment is designed to address volume loss. A consultation is what determines whether one of these — or a different treatment altogether — is the right starting point for your skin.
