What Is Glacial Skin? A Cooling Facial at Minori
22 October 2026
A cooling facial that calms redness and heat, soothes irritation and supports barrier recovery at Minori Skincare.
Glacial Skin is a facial treatment at Minori Skincare that uses controlled sub-zero cooling on the face alongside professional skincare infusion. It suits skin that reacts easily and feels warm, and it is non-invasive with little to no downtime.
How it works
Cooling and skincare infusion are combined in one appointment. The cooling settles heat in reactive skin, and the infusion step supports the absorption of selected professional skincare formulations. A session runs about 50 minutes and is comfortable throughout: cleansing, gentle exfoliation and massage, with extractions where they are needed. Extractions can feel briefly sharp, and you can tell your therapist at any time that you would like a lighter touch.
Who it may suit
The treatment is written for reactive skin, dull tone, and pores that look more prominent than you would like. It suits most skin types and can be performed year-round. It is also used as support for skin that is still settling after other work.
What it cannot do
Glacial Skin is a cooling, hydrating facial. It is a non-invasive treatment that works on the surface of the skin rather than below it, so it is not the right answer for every concern. If what you are asking about needs a different approach on our menu, we will say so at consultation rather than book you in for this.
Before you come in
Please tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active infection, cold sores, sunburn or broken skin in the area, use prescription retinoids or have recently taken isotretinoin, or have had recent injectables, peels or laser. The treatment is adapted, or moved to a better time.
Afterwards, keep the rest of the day simple: gentle cleansing, moisturiser and daily sunscreen. Leave strong exfoliating acids and retinoids for a few days, and skip saunas, steam rooms and intense exercise for the first 24 hours.
Minori Skincare, 146 W 29th St, 3E, New York, NY 10001. (929) 648-7331. Open every day 10:00 to 20:00.
A consultation is what determines whether Glacial Skin, or a different treatment on our menu, is the right starting point for your skin.
