VI Peel in Manhattan: what to expect

27 October 2026

A medical-grade chemical peel at Minori Skincare in NoMad, Manhattan: what happens at the appointment, and what the week of peeling afterwards looks like.

If you are looking for a VI Peel near you, Minori Skincare offers it in NoMad, Manhattan, at 146 W 29th St, 3E, New York, NY 10001, open daily from 10:00 to 20:00. A VI Peel is a 30-minute appointment followed by roughly a week of peeling at home: the solution goes on in the studio, stays for as long as your clinician instructs, and the outer layers shed over the following days.

What happens at the appointment

Every VI Peel runs in four steps. Consult, a skin analysis and an honest plan. Prepare, a gentle cleanse to ready the skin. Treat, the core treatment, performed by a certified specialist. Glow, the aftercare guidance you take home. The sensation while the solution is applied is a warm tingling that builds, then eases, watched closely throughout. At Minori, a VI Peel is performed or supervised by an appropriately licensed medical professional, in accordance with New York State law.

What the week afterwards looks like

Skin usually looks tight and a little darker for a day or two, then peels, then settles. Peeling usually starts two to three days after the treatment, and how much varies. Cleanse with lukewarm water and clean hands, pat dry, apply the moisturiser you were given, and wear a high-factor sunscreen every day, staying out of direct sun while the skin peels. Do not pull, pick or exfoliate peeling skin, because pulling it can leave a mark. Pause retinoids, acids and scrubs until peeling has finished, leave make-up off, and skip saunas and swimming while the skin is peeling.

Who it may suit

VI Peel suits skin that looks dull or congested, or where texture has become uneven. It is formulated to be appropriate for a broad range of Fitzpatrick skin types when performed by a qualified provider, and many first-time chemical peel patients are candidates. A series is often spaced four to six weeks apart, with the plan set at consultation.

What it cannot do

VI Peel is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or over active infection, cold sores, or inflamed or broken skin. Please tell us about recent isotretinoin use, sun exposure or tanning, any photosensitising medication, and any history of keloids or of discolouration. It resurfaces the outer layers of skin over about a week, so it is not the answer to every concern we see, and if another treatment suits you better we will say so at consultation.

Book a consultation at Minori Skincare in NoMad, online or on (929) 648-7331. A consultation is what determines whether VI Peel, or a different treatment on our menu, is the right starting point for your skin.
